I just realized that I had no posts in 2014.  Sorry about that.
I moved back to Taichung in 2014 from Shanghai.  I moved eight times in the past two years.  I'm exhausted but also excited about Taichung.

My next show is in Portugal.  I'll be posting details soon.  Looking forward to Feb. so I can wrap up a lot of the paintings that I brought back from Shanghai.

I watched The Village by Stan Lai yesterday, it made me laugh and it made me cry. I can't wait to go to his next show in June.

Una mirada hacia el pasado, reflejando la profundidad de la soledad, de las imaginaciones de lo que podría ser el futuro.  Reflejo despierta el encuentro con uno mismo, con el paso de nuestro tiempo, con nuestra soledad, nuestras esperanzas y deseos.   Esta obra invita uno a mirar hacia nuestro interior, y sentir nuestras aspiraciones más profundas.

Bueno, estoy más que encantada para estar participando en esta exposición, mil gracias a Elena Jordán y Christy Liao por todo el apoyo maravilloso.  Espero que la exposición nos abrirá nuevas perspectivas hacia nuestras expresiones artísticas y nos brindará nuevas inspiraciones para seguir adelante. 

Tim McFarlane's new show Presence

Hope yall get to check out Tim McFarlane's new show Presence at the Bridgette Mayer Gallery
Tim's artwork has the ability to transport me to a different space, a different dimension.  I see so many layers of spaces and emotions, of layers of wisdom and secrecy hidden beneath somewhere/ something yet still perceivable.  His artwork reminds me that these spaces still exist in the world, and that we have the capability of feeling and perceiving them.

Anyways, wished I could actually be in Philly for this.  The show runs from September 5 - Oct 5, 2013

dead ends

I think we spend a lot of time in life going after and then running away from dead ends.
people, choices, situations.
like those times, when doors open, and after tricking you into thinking that something was actually possible, they are slammed right back in your face
and all the hopes that you have built around that,
somehow ends up in an empty vaccuum

to find that hope and optimism again..
is hard.

I'm in Shanghai

I moved to Shanghai in March ~
and haven't updated much of my blog mainly because
1) I had no access to internet for the entire first month after moving into my new place
2) My blog is blocked in China!
3) I don't have a camera....yet

but...
I set up my studio between tears and heartaches and sleepless nights
I found out a way to access my blog too
I've started working on my art again, like never before
I have so much energy

The children said that my paintings looked like exploding heads!

I seriously love them.  I love sharing my creativity with children, their imaginations are limitless.  I can already picture myself being that kid, thinking of the world in so many shapes and shades and melodies.  I think there is a big part of me that will never stop being that kid.

To be fair, the one behind me looked like an "exploding head".
